Away In A Graveyard (A Poem For Christmas)

Away in a manger
The little Lord cried:
Perfection’s not proven
By unfeeling eyes

Away in a graveyard
The Lord cried again:
At the horror of death
In the loss of a friend

Away in a graveyard
He wiped Mary’s tears:
“I am resurrection,
And life beyond years”

Away in a graveyard
He conquered the grave:
Rising victorious
With power to save

Away in a Heaven
He won us a day
When all tears remaining
Will be wiped away
